The SC School for the Deaf and the Blind is the state’s only specialized school for students who are deaf or blind. Students ages 4 ½ to 21 from across the state may be residential students and take advantage of a 24-hour learning experience. Residential students live on campus Sunday through Friday, so the school does everything in its power to help students live in a comfortable environment.  The Society and Alliance joined together on February 24th to raise funds to outfit three recreational rooms on campus to help the students feel more “at home” during their stay.  Attendees had a fabulous time at the School’s Walker Foundation Hall with an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, lots of silent auction items to bid on, and music by Missing Monday.  Here are the facts of the evening:

Ticket Sales:  $4,300
Donations:  $1,360
Silent Auction Proceeds:  $4,335

Total Donation to SC School for the Deaf & Blind:
$6,500

A special thank you goes out to our monetary and silent auction donors!
